Random Color

Assign an instant random color to any Body, Geometrical Set, or Ordered Geometrical Set, and automatically tone matching children to stay coherent.

Opening the graphical properties dialog, picking RGB values by hand, and repeating it for every Body in the tree gets tedious the moment a project grows past a handful of features. Random Color skips the dialog entirely: select what you want to color, and it lands a fresh color on the spot, no menus, no sliders, no repeating yourself.

What it does

  • Colors on the spot, select one feature or a dozen, and every one of them gets a new random color in a single pass.
  • Keeps children in sync, when you color a single Body or set, its recognized children pick up a coordinated, toned-down shade automatically, so nested features never clash with their parent.
  • Respects your palette, define the color ranges you never want to see (too red, too pale, too dark) once, and every future color stays inside your rules.
  • Leaves your selection exactly as you found it, the tool restores your original selection when it’s done, so you can keep working without reselecting anything.

How it works

Select a feature (or several) in the tree and run the tool, the color is applied immediately, no panel to open or fields to fill in. Set your palette rules and your children-coloring preferences once, and every run from then on follows them automatically.

Where it fits

Free for everyone, included in every plan from Starter up. It’s the kind of tool you reach for constantly without thinking about it, a fast way to keep a busy tree visually readable, tell related groups of features apart at a glance, and give a project some color instead of the same flat grey on everything.
